(Shanghai, March 13, 2024) Shanghai Hilong Drill Pipe Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Hilong Group, was one of eleven Shanghai-based enterprises to be included in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s eighth batch of national manufacturing single champion enterprises, which was announced recently. This represents yet another national-level honor the company has earned.
Since its establishment in 2006, Shanghai Hilong Drill Pipe has focused on the design, manufacturing, and service of Drill Pipe series products for oil and gas exploration and development. Over that time, it has continuously provided high-end drilling rod products and technical services to large national oil companies such as CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, Saudi Aramco, and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company. The company’s work is guided by technological innovation, and Shanghai Hilong Drill Pipe has collaborated with the Shanghai Hilong Tubular Goods Research Institute to independently develop what is referred to as the "Three High" series of high-end drilling equipment products, which is characterized as featuring high strength, high torsional resistance, and high sulfur resistance. The Three High series is an umbrella that includes more than thirty “sub-series” such as the HL120S/125S series high-steel-grade sulfur-resistant drill rods, HLIST series ultra-high torsion-resistant drill rods, HLV150/U165 series high-strength drill rods, and HLAS low-temperature drill rods. Many of the company’s technologies are highly advanced both in terms of domestic and international standards. Notably, the HL125S high-steel-grade sulfur-resistant drill rod has broken through the technical barriers of harsh environment oil and gas drilling and production techniques. In recent years, Hilong has joined in on China’s national initiative calling for the joint construction of the "Belt and Road." The company subsequently has developed an international development strategy, obtained recognition in high-end markets such as the UAE and Saudi Aramco, achieved milestone breakthroughs, and gained a market share of over 20% in the international market for high-end Drill Pipe products.
Its selection as a single-item champion enterprise represents the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s high recognition of Hilong's technological level, independent innovation ability, and market competitiveness in the drilling equipment field by governments and customers at all levels.
